This second book was the first episode of the TV series, but there were many digressions, and the characters that seemed so perfectly cast in the first book were also quite different in this second one. I can appreciate both for their similarities and variances. It’s like two for one in the entertainment value - like so many what if tropes. I think I’ll stop comparing the two with the third book and simply enjoy the book for what it is.

reread.... Audible Will Trent + Sara Linton xoxo
Affluent Atlanta housewife Abigail Campano, arrives home to find a man standing over the corpse of a teenage girl she thinks is her daughter. She kills him in a blind rage, but learns later that he and the dead girl were friends of her daughter, who has been kidnapped.
They did a version of this story on the TV series but the book is better!
All of her police procedurals are well done, complex and Dark in subject matter.

Not my favorite work from Karin but a good addition to the Will Trent series overall. I enjoyed the book's exploration of learning disabilities and how the foster care system can impact one's childhood and therefore their adult lives. Not really gagged by Will and Angie Polanski's relationship but luckily Karin seems to be just as disinterested in developing them as I am in reading about them!
