My first femdom book and I enjoyed it. Wished the deleted scene was on the actual book bc it was so good and intimate

Finally an adequate and believable depiction of a healthy femdom relationship where a billionaire tech hero is obsessed with giving his knyazhna (princess) everything (and I mean everything - on his knees too). It was actually quite refreshing to read about a bdsm arrangement that was depicted so organically. Kate and Mikhail both exert a natural dominance and submission that plays perfectly off of the other. Neither of them have to change to be together and get what they want and need out of their relationship. In fact, their sexual and emotional desires evolve together and only become more fulfilling as they explore their connection. I was especially into Mikhail's immediate obsession with his Katya - she told him off and he awoke from a yearlong streak of celibacy and a lifetime of straightforward sexual urges and arrangements. Both of them were relatively emotionally scarred, but Mikhail was literally that DW meme (he couldn't see the signs he loved Kate because he simply couldn't read).
I was also amused by Guerre's lack of subtlety in confronting the inherent moral issues associated with billionaires. These characters openly discuss how problematic that kind of money is and Kate spends much of the book grappling with conflicting guilt at taking/spending money in a sexual arrangement and pleasure at sticking it to the 1% by donating thousands of dollars to different charities (including a women's shelter that funded abortion access).

I love this author and this series! The femdom aspect was sexy and well-executed! I liked Kate’s pragmatism, and that she was smart and gutsy. There was a little bit of angst at the end with Kate waiting for Mikhail to realize his true feelings. Loved his grand gesture and that they got a HEA.

This one is a sugar baby in the office (billionaire) kind of romance with a submissive man who doesn't believe in love.
(I like angsty office romances, even if in this one they are never at the office)
I COMPLAIN A LOT BUT THIS IS STILL A GOOD ONE
So...do I like submissive men and dominant women? Not really. I don't hate but it does not do it for me.
Did I love the relationship/dynamic? It was fun but a bit too distant, I wasn't able to fully empathise with the characters and that was all the writing's fault. It didn't give me enough to feel close to them (and I don't feel like it can be improved by the author. She has created well developed characters, I simply don't connect deeply to her writing).
Nonetheless I think I'm going to read many other books by this author. Even if I complained a lot about I find her writing very compelling, pleasant and easy to read and I truly appreciate that she depicts different stories (different kinks) and excpecially people who had a rough beginning.
I am eagerly waiting for the book with the heroine's sistes.
Could this be a new read all her books' author? It could be. We shall se.
However my not being attached to the love story is never going to make me her a favourite.
I like her novels more in an intellectual way rather than an emotional one.
This is a mix of contemporary bdsm and gritty reality. You might like it of you enjoy Cate C wells
