Creo que no entendí la historia, por lo tanto no me gustó. Lo oí en audilibro y creo que no le presté suficiente atención. Al ser una historia de otro siglo, encontré la trama simple y donde el narrador encontraba algo siniestro y problemático, yo lo encontré simplón y no entendía la angustia que embargaba a la protagonista. Odio cuando no me gusta un clásico.

Entiendo que es un clásico, pero madre mía qué aburrimiento.
Quizá si jamás hubiese visto Haunting of Bly Manor, me hubiese gustado más.
Eso sí, el final me ha dejado impactada y con ganas de saber más, sobre todo porque siento que se han olvidado de la otra trama.

In dieser Auflage wird das Buch als "Solitär des Thriller-Genres" beschrieben. Und so habe ich mich auf eine Gruselgeschichte à la Poe eingestellt.
Gegruselt habe ich mich nicht - die Geschichte zieht sich hin und ich habe die ganze Zeit darauf gewartet, dass sich irgendetwas erklärt. Man wartet bei jedem Umblättern, bei jedem neuen Kapitel auf die erlösende Erklärung. Ist die Gouvernante verrückt? Was alles ist Einbildung? Weiss Mrs. Grose viel mehr als sie zugibt? Warum werden die Kinder in so überschwänglichen Tönen gelobt?
Das Ende ist wahnsinnig abrupt - ich habe direkt umgeblättert da ich auf ein weiteres Kapitel hoffte, auf die erlösende Erklärung wartete. Man hat beim Lesen das ganze Zeit das Gefühl, dass man etwas verpasst hat - irgendeinen Hinweis überlesen hat um den Nebel zu lichten.
Je mehr ich hier schreibe desto mehr Fragen stellen sich mir. Die Geschichte lässt einem nicht in Ruhe.
