Heartbreaking, and really highlights the horrors of Israeli occupation against Palestinians in their own homelands. And what a way to end a story. Would highly recommend, but heavy content warning for SA.

This book will haunt me. There was a lot of heavy content, including military occupation, gang rape, and death. But nonetheless, with the ongoing genocide happening in Palestine, I felt it was important to read a work that not only featured the aftermath of the Nakba, but also a snippet of contemporary occupation.
While the pacing of the two stories feels slow and methodological (as it's day-to-day routine, hour-to-hour activity and thoughts), that's on purpose. Many details that appear within the stories come back later with significance. The "minor detail" the woman in the second story focuses on largely relates to the first story's victim. The author manages to achieve a compelling story with emotion in merely 100 pages or so.
It's well worth reading.
