35% through the book and couldn’t finish. The only thing happening is that Jo is miserable because her mom is obsessed with her Little Women business, forces her daughters to help her, and has no interest in what actually matters to them. I’m miserable listening to this. Her mom doesn’t care about them.

Good enough to finish but overall nothing special. The characters weren’t particularly likeable and the plot wasn’t very interesting

Drawing from the classic, Little Women, I was hopeful for this book and was happy to see it wasn't just a retelling but was still parallel to the original. But it never really drew me in and I felt some of the characters were predictable or one sided and lacked some originality.

I had such a fun time listening to this audiobook. The banter is so funny and since these characters are all caricatures, the combo worked for me. It was pretty superficial but had lots of nods to Little Women, both overt and covert references, so it was fun to notice things that connected this book to the classic. It was a predictable story with a lot of ridiculousness, which made it just a good time. It would have been even better if the more serious topics had been given more weight and there had been more heart to hearts at the end rather than all the issues getting swept under the rug and working out perfectly fine. I don’t typically like YA with characters that act like this, but since they were so over the top and had such great banter I thoroughly enjoyed myself. It felt like I was reading a script for a play, so a change in format could have helped this book too.
Graphic: Cursing, Alcohol, and Bullying
Moderate: Sexual content, Misogyny, Grief, and Toxic relationship
