An incredible literary display from McCarthy. While it can be difficult to follow at first, once you get into the rhythm it proves an incredibly compelling reflection on fatherhood while being simpler than most other of Cormac's books.

This book is honestly kind of a snoozer, but I was still invested in the journey. Even through constant threats of boredom, the end still managed to get me. It kind of feels like I should hate this one and I wish I did.

Favourite Quote:
"Each memory recalled must do some violence to its origins."

This is such a dark book. It's well-written and the story is interesting enough, but I couldn't possibly recommend it to anyone except the most die-hard of post-apocalyptic fans. It will leave you with a very empty feeling
