Цікаві дуже як і стилістика цього мальопису, так і сама історія. Раджу до ознайомлення, бо ж з такого боку я ще на історію не дивилася
Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read a digital copy of this book in exchange for a review. All opinions are my own.
A poignant and moving look into the author's family history and national heritage.

Really enjoyed this. A story of a woman generations past WWII living with the guilt of it. She tracks stories on both sides of her family as she looks at what roles they had during the war. Fascinating.
This book is something that I have thought a lot about. Coming to terms with German history, German culture, and German identity. This biography is a great read.
Germany in the last century through the history of an ordinary family. The diaspora and the way home.
Absolutely necessary read for anyone with an ethnic or family history of fascism. The kind of work that grants produce-- fund more art!
What an interesting read! There were a lot of things I did not know about the history of some Germans and this provided a lot of context. The art was lovely and warm and engaging. The story was interesting. I am not a fan of history but I found this captivated me and I wanted to follow it through.

This was hard to stomach. Nora Krug does an amazing job at tracing the effects which guilt, loss and history have on German families through a look at her own families.

The visual aspects of this book were very effective - the mix of photographs, archival material and hand drawn comics reflected the nature of the author’s search for her family’s history and involvement with the Nazi party. Put another way, I think it was much more interesting and effective than it would have been as a purely prose story, and I love seeing what can be done with the medium of graphic novels (do we still call them graphic novels when they’re non-fiction?)
