This is my favorite arc in the podcast, and the graphic novel did not disappoint! Gorgeous art, as always, and I love the opportunity the book takes to sneak in extra foreshadowing that the podcast didn’t originally do. Funny, and emotional, and overall the whole package.

The adventure continues! Another book, another mission, and this one is against time itself. Well, a chalice that controls time, anyway. Magnus, Merle, and Taako must travel to a small town trapped in a time bubble to retrieve another of the relics to be destroyed, but while the previous four have been easier to ignore the allure of, this one may prove a bit harder...

This was delightful. I can't actually think of anything that I disliked about the story or the pacing, and it continues to give us glimpses into the characters' backstory, as well as more allusions to their missing time. A very solid entry.

This was one of my favorite arcs of the podcast- which is really saying something since I usually hate time loop stories. I really appreciate that the boys gave themselves permission to skip over the boring bits and focus on the mystery- it doesn’t always make sense, but I will never be angry at sacrificing strict correctness for telling a good story.

The one-off characters in this arc were some of the best, and the story of Jack and June makes me cry every time. I did miss Griffin’s Cassidy voice, but Carey’s depiction of her more than makes up for it.

It's TAZ book 5 so I doubt anybody is starting here. But in my mind this was the last fun arc of the podcast before things went downhill into the finale. I mean, I'll still read those arcs but given the source material they can't be anywhere near as good as this or Petals.

This format obviously has to compress the stories and cut some of the good goofs but it gets the important parts across in a fun way. Favorite bonus joke in this one is

I loved listening to The Adventure Zone podcast, and now I love reading The Adventure Zone graphic novels, too! This art style is amazing, and it's always a treat to read something that's in full-color. I love Carey Pietsch's faithfulness to the source material; including Taako's skirt in this adventure was very important to me. I also love the designs for NPCs such as Ren, June, and Isaak. Roswell is so round and clunky, and I am obsessed with the shape and depth given to their suit of armor, as well as how both the bird and the armor react to the world around them.

This installation adapts "The Eleventh Hour" beautifully and cleverly utilizes its format to portray the time loop in ways both comedic and chilling. The emotions on the characters' faces are vivid and expressive, and I aspire to create drawings as beautiful and lively as these. I eagerly await the remaining graphic novels, but I trust Pietsch to take as much time as necessary to work her magic. These books are certainly worth the wait!
