Excellent follow up to Smile. Great to have a younger story from Telgemeier since her readers are getting younger.

not much to say it was a pretty good book and it was enjoyable

This story is SO relatable. Not only between the sisters, but the whole family dynamic. The cousins, the parents, the roadtrip XD
Loved it.

4.50. Excellent.

This was such a great read! I’m slowly working my way through Telgemier’s works and this was next on the docket.

As the second book in a middle grade graphic novel trilogy, Sisters brings readers back to meet with Raina except this time we get to see more of her relationship with her sister as well as her younger brother. Told in present time as well as through a series of flashbacks, readers follow the three siblings and their mom as they take a week long drive from California to Colorado. During this trip, we learn so much about the relationship between Raina and her sister as well the relationships that exists with the rest of the family.

What Worked: EVERYTHING! Raina has such a gift for storytelling. This is a graphic novel that can easily be read in one sitting. Although it’s a quick read, readers will find themselves immersed in the story. Like Raina I always wished for a sibling, but it was definitely more interesting reading about her experience. Watching the two girls struggle with their relationship as well as the relationship with their brother was both interesting and stressful for me as parent.

I read this in one day that who knows it a really good book and I recommend

Raina Telgemeier shares the story of she and her sister Amara's relationship. It centers on a trip her family took driving from their home in California to Colorado to visit family.

Nostalgic.
