I listened to this book in two days. It was incredibly well written, beautiful, and heartbreaking. The message is constructed in a very realistically hopeful way, not sugar coating anything but also saying we can make progress and we shouldn’t give up.
Content Warnings
Moderate: Sexual assault and Rape
This is obviously a book about rape so it’s discussed throughout. However the only detailed descriptions are of the examination the next morning. It’s upsetting, but not in the way that graphic fictional rape scenes are. I would say unless you are especially sensitive to the topic it’s not a reason to shy away from this book.lexn_bryant's review against another edition

powerful, horrific, and so so beautifully written. a sweet, silly, smart and gentle voice, this book feels like a hug, even though the times ive cried is in the double digits. <33333

Incredible book. I listened to it on audiobooks and her narration was also excellent.
