I noted with interest that the author cites Google Books as her source for contemporary poetry. So much easier, these days, than for, say, Georgette Heyer! Thank goodness.

Very disappointing after the first two the series. Unlike her sisters, Leonie lacks depth and internal conflict. In place of a personality she has numbers, as if a gift for accounting is somehow a defining characteristic. Lisburne is even worse - he’s a cardboard cutout “handsome rake” with no personality, desires (other than sex) , fears, needs, hobbies, preferences, or anything human at all. Their relationship, as a result, feels  forced and unnatural. I have no idea what either ever saw in the other, apart from physical  attraction. The plot has a number of holes, and Chase makes a surprising number of basic historical errors considering she’s normally quite good about those things. Even the spice is very boring. I was hoping for far more out of Leonie’s story.
