adventurous slow-paced

I didn't think L + L got to spend enough time together on page. It all felt rushed with regard to the development of their relationship.

This book focused on the least interesting parts of the concept: I wanted more of the dressmaking biz, I wanted more of Gladys (forthright, unpopular Gladys!) and I wanted much less pretentious alpha-male assholery. The conclusion to the trilogy, where the men
Spoilerconspire to rid the women of their life's work, and all three agree to retire to pursuits more suited for ~noble ladies of the ton~
put a bad taste in my mouth as well.

I adored Lisbourne. He is charming and smug and protective of his friends. He is completely enthralled by Sophy Noirot.
I loved the back and forth between these two. I adore these sisters and how they see who a person is and how to help them. They are resourceful, smart, and completely self reliant.
This author has such a way with banter and relationships. I adore her writing and how she structures a story. A lot of elements are similar to her other books but not in a way that it detracts from the story.
I really can't wait to see what happens with Clara.
