My goodness. This book had me so emotionally involved that I was sobbing for these characters at only 27%. The theme for this series so far seems to be hurts so good.
Tattooed biker Jackson had a rough upbringing and single dad Oliver came from money. The two of them were so different but after suffering through a very traumatic event together, nobody understood them better than each other.
These two experienced so many setbacks to their HEA when I just wanted them be happy. They deserved it! But while they had all these big serious issues happening, they still joked around and had fun together. Ollie's daughter was hilariously herself and I loved her curiosity.
I'm both excited and nervous to finish this series.

I’ve enjoyed discovering this new to me author over the last 2 weeks, I binged book 1 & 2 within a couple of days. Book 2 was really enjoyable so I was excited to dive into this one.
The plot/premise of this story is great, we already found out a little about Oliver & Jackson’s backstory in the previous books and there was a lot of intrigue on my part as to what exactly went on between them.
This book however didn’t quite deliver for me in the way that the previous 2 did. I loved the angst and at times poetic writing throughout the previous books, it felt a bit absent in this one.
When we meet Jackson & Oliver in this book they have just been victims of major train accident, leaving them as only survivors, in total dark, trapped under ground. During the span of a few days both build a connection, that despite both having never engaged in any same sex relations , any in Jackson’s case - any relations at all - to some sexual encounters.
I found the timing and circumstances around this quite poorly executed and it led me to be disappointed in their relationship quite early on.
I enjoyed some of the aspects of ‘after’ interesting enough, in particular the letter writing was very cute , however, later when both cross paths again and don’t recognise each other , even though all personality characteristics are still present , alongside only abbreviated first names I had to suspend some believes to be able to continue.
This has so much potential and I am a bit saddened by the fact that it wasn’t what I had hoped for but it won’t stop me from reading this author in the future. Lots of great potential.
PS…major giant penis…SO out of left field and only served to have the reader go WTF

really well done, this book was fantastic. but it kind of started dragging near the end and I absolutely don't understand the third act breakup. it was entirely unnecessary and could have been written out of the plot. kind of a weird ending which was happy in writing, but I was still feeling unsettled emotions. it was rushed. and it was rushed because it was unnecessary. this would have been better as just one separation.

Ok so there were parts I loved more than others, but overall this is such a deep and sweet romance. So many swoony moments for imperfect characters. I really love the writing, I am a bit worried to go into to the next series for Scout but have heard good things

Memorable Quote(s):
“I want him like a person wants the nameless feeling that lingers in the memory of their dreams, something taken from them too long ago to remember. And I have no idea what that means.”
“Now it’s all come true, the thing I feared most for the last six years: my heart’s defective. There’s only one person in this world who can make it whole, and no matter where we are, no matter who we are, I can’t have him.”
“I’ve never had a reason for anything before.” “So you’re my reason, and I’m yours. Is that good enough?”
