Very interesting and mysterious. I liked how Leigh Bardugo can catch up with the common writing style and atmosphere of folk tales, this must've been a lot of work.

Warning: This review has a SPOILER.

“It is always the same trap,” she said gently. “You longed for conversation. The bear craved jokes. The gray wolf missed music. The boar just wanted someone to tell her troubles to. The trap is loneliness, and none of us escapes it. Not even me.”

Just about the right amount of dark and yet still thrilling and interesting.

Nice, but not as good as [b:The Witch of Duva|13643163|The Witch of Duva (The Grisha, #0.5)|Leigh Bardugo|http://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1336644891s/13643163.jpg|19258458].

I loved this one - styled like a Grimm/fairy tale. But I figured out the plot pretty early. I will chalk it up to being a very well-read reader and hope that for the younger set they don't figure it out so quickly. Still very well crafted.
