I wish I knew this part of a series, because the back really intrigued me. However when I started reading it, I felt like I was missing out on a big part of the story. I really wanted to enjoy it, but about a quarter way through I just couldn't do it.

The frequency of authors who typically write thrillers & police procedurals, who are now including aspects of the supernatural in their books, is surprising and honestly kind of overwhelming. This was a good story but the character of Seth Caleb (“vampire,” psychic, and blood aficionado) took quite some getting used to.
As always I enjoyed Jane MacGuire and how kickass she is. She’s a winning character and I honestly think I like her more than I like Eve. And that’s saying something!
Need to pick up the books earlier in the series that I’ve not read, however. This one was a bit heavy on referencing earlier events.

I liked that this story revolved around Jane, Eve's daughter, and the other characters that came with her. I think I am ready for Eve's story to be brought to a great end and Jane be brought forward as the main character. Eve has been the main character for many books and I think that her story has mostly been told.

I like books about Jane a lot more than books about Eve. There are sexy men and less whining about Bonnie.
