Tate let Miles tottaly use her and let him walk over her time after time. Plus what's up with the incest between rachel en miles. That was not necessary and kind of disgusting.
The whole plot is horrible and disgusting. The writing was good though, half a star for that.

This was not what I was expecting. I picked up this book as a “BookTok” recommendation. I was really excited to start this and let me just say: BOOKTOK LEFT OUT A PRETTY BIG DETAIL.
Colleen Hoover is raved about constantly and continuously praised for her work. Although the ending was satisfying, I have a few gripes about this one. Tate is constantly talking about being an independent woman who’s super busy and devoted to her career, but without Miles she has no other personality traits. She didn’t develop as a character at all and reading a female character actively say she’s going to ignore red flags was annoying.
Miles is insufferable. His “love” with Rachel is just straight up infatuation and the way his point of view was written drives me insane. I understand what Hoover was doing and that this was his “poetry” in a way, but I just found him annoying. It was supposed to be sweet and romantic, but <spoiler alert> it can’t be that when they’re step siblings <spoiler alert>. Now, I understand they met before they knew their parents were together but, they still actively pursued that. Them being step siblings was a completely unnecessary plot device that was just being used for drama. I think the tragedy that happened to Miles and Rachel would have been enough without them being step siblings.
Overall, by the time I got to the darkest part of the book, I needed to finish it. A lot of this book just feels like filler and it’s way too small to need filler. I didn’t care for the main characters. The miscommunication trope is the worst and if a man ever called me another woman’s name during the ~*dirty*~, he would be gone. He would never see me again. This was just ridiculous.

this book was a hell of ride.

i think miles part of the book was done really well and i enjoyed reading that part. Miles was a complex, interesting character and i didn't really like him as a character but nevertheless i thought he was interesting and written well.

Tate was alright, I don't really have much to say about her. I think she deserved better but she should've listened to Miles when he told her to never ask about his past and never expect a future.

Cap was probably my favorite, he was a nice break from the dramaticness of the book  and i thought he was funny and made the book worth reading.

Admittedly, I did cry multiple times which meant it had a good emotional factor as i usually dont cry much throughout reading books so I think Hoover wrote emotive language really well.

This book may be triggering so be mindful of this while going into this book

Overall, the book wasn't bad it just wasn't my favorite thing and it probably could have been improved.
