Star Witch is book two in The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Magic by Helen Harper.
OMG this was another AMAZING and FUN novel in The Lazy Girl’s Guide to Magic. I had a blast reading this novel.
The murder mystery was unique. As to who did it well I didn’t guess correctly neither did the characters. It’s great how the author keeps it hidden until the very end. I love being surprised on who did it.
The romance angel was subtle and weaved into the story nicely. I liked that the romance was secondary to the story. We see Winter and Ivy growing closer together, but with the ending we are left wondering a few things. That ending was a shocker!
The epilogue was all in Winter’s POV and I really enjoyed that. I also liked how the author had Brutus, Ivy’s familiar and talking cat, say more then the two words we've been getting in this novel.
Star Witch was such a fun read. I couldn’t put it down. I really like this series and it's fun characters.
Rated: 4 Stars

"Did I want a torrid love affair or did I want to catch an evil murderer? Both, of course, but given the choice between the two it was a tough call."
Oh, man, I am really enjoying this series! It's not one of those dense ones you feel like you're asked to read for a school assignment. It's fun to read.
The mystery was a quirky little thing, taking place during the filming of Ivy's favorite reality TV show in Scotland. Again, she's in The Order's crosshairs and even though she'd rather be at home dozing, she can't just let everything fall to pieces.
I continue to enjoy her interactions with Winter, the Ipsissimus, Iqbal and of course, Brutus the talking cat.

I'm really enjoying this series. I'm unsure if it is classified as 'young adult' but I suspect it is.
It is a lighthearted series following an extremely talented but unconventional witch. I really love her laid back and laissez-faire attitude towards life.
This book has our favourite witch and her love interest/investigator partner (Rafe/Winters) on site at a magic-themed reality show.
These stories are awesome "whodunnits" with great humour.
On to the next book in the series.
PS (spice level 🌶 = 0/5)
All clean but some swearing (especially by the cat)

- this end !!! OMG !!!
What I found disappointing :
- same complaint that for the previous book, there are not enough explanations !! We don't know what the reality show really is, the universe and the different institutions and rules are very fuzzy (do normal people know about magic ? Is it a big secret? How does the government of normal people handle this ?)
In short, it's a book that made me laugh a lot and perfect to take your mind off things =)

Fantasy with a sassy main character, easy to read and her cat „Brutus“ is hilarious!
