This time Ivy is a crew then cast member of one of her favorite shows enchanted. The whole idea that anyone believed that Rafe was just following her is ridiculous. But the mystery part was pretty cool and I liked the mini twist at the end

The audiobook narrator was just awful. You can’t write a book with a British dialect and then read it in an American one. The book itself was fun though.

Audiobook

Ivy is still my spirit animal. :) I have a goofy smile on my face half the time reading this.

Three and a half stars, just because this one was hilarious. Of the three books in this series, this was my favorite. The writing itself was so-so, but I repeatedly laughed aloud. I also appreciated how many different suspects there were, which made for an excellent series of red herrings.
adventurous funny lighthearted mysterious medium-paced

Our favorite lazy witch is back and this time she has to infiltrate a reality show to catch a necromancer. I don't watch reality shows so I have no idea how that goes, but there were some hilarious moments.
The slow burn with Winter gets halted because Ivy freaks out (understandable), which makes the mid-action love confessions a bit awkward.
I enjoyed it almost as much as the first book.

Darn you, pseudo-cliffhanger!

I still love this series, but I didn't totally love this book.

I docked one star because I wanted more Ivy-Winter banter similar to the first book. The Ivy-Winter interaction I did get was more awkward schoolgirl crush than fun, flirtatious sexual tension. Don't get me wrong. I love Ivy and Winter, but they were currently going through the whole 'define-this-relationship-after-drunkenly-sleeping-with-each-other' stage.

Other than the lack of preferred Ivy-Winter interactions, I didn't care too much about the setting. Filming Enchantment's Wilderness Edition wasn't nearly as entertaining as solving thief and murder in the stodgy-magical buildings of the Order. It also didn't help that a good amount of people involved in the TV show were jackasses. Overall, the setting was so so, but bravo on the whole zombie-necromancer mystery - that kept me guessing til the end.

Anyways, I look forward to reading the next book to see what happens with Ivy's new powers, but in the meantime, I will be re-reading 'Slouch Witch'.

Almost forgot. There seems to to be a silver lining to this book not being as good as the first. I am not obsessively waiting for the third book to arrive so now I can get on with my life and find another book to read - and possibly obsess about.

really enjoyed this one

Just as hilarious as book one.

That was *gloriously* insane.
