I don't know what I expected from this book... I didn't love it nor did I hate it. If anything it made me think that Bella should be with Jacob and not Edward.

I love the book but not as much as I loved the first one. The phase Bella went through when Edward left her was kind of very heart wrenching to read and it was very nicely written I believe and not portrayed well in the movie. I'll forever love Jacob black but there was no way Bella could have chose him over Edward Cullen

I really had to slog through this one. First, I had some serious problems with our lovely ingenue. Girl is thick as molasses. I just couldn't buy the premise that Bella would be instantly convinced that Edward had lost interest in her. And it took her for. ever. to figure out that Jake was a werewolf.
Also there was a lot of melodrama-- of course that was true in the first book as well, but I can tolerate melodrama when it pertains to romance, not so much when it pertains to emo angst.
In addition, hello? End of the second book and she's still not a vampire?
I'm going to read book 3, but if it's not a whole lot better, that's it for me, I'm out.

I read this back in 2008 and would’ve given it 5 stars when I was in high school.

I think the twilight series might just be the best series out there.
Alice is my absolute favourite.

Not as exciting as the rest of the series, leaves a lot to be desired. If teenage angst is your thing, this is the book for you. If not, it feels like more of a filler book to draw out a conclusion we all know will happen
