What can i say, it is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and the beloved Sherlock Holmes, they're classic, rich, thrilling, and beautifully written.
I enjoy the writing style, the well thought out plots, the plot twists, and Sherlock himself, in all his eccentric glory, and all written through the mind of Dr Watson.
If you have never read Sherlock Holmes before, i can only suggest you do so.

I bought a second hand paperback of this novel and it’s been sitting in my TBR for awhile - wow I wish I read it sooner. Honestly thoroughly enjoyed and best thing was that every chapter is a short story so really get so much enjoyment out of all the ‘adventures’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fire. Kind of repetitive after a while but these were all really good
Now this is excitement. This is the man that everyone fell in love with.
I liked but had issues with A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four, but these stories seem to show Sherlock Holmes in his best light. It is not just their brevity that I appreciate, where a mystery may be set up and solved so fast as to provide almost immediate satisfaction, but frequently Doyle engages with his mysteries far better than he did in either of the two cases before. It feels he grapples with morality, justice, and human nature itself when creating his stories, rather than researching a far-away culture and throwing them in from his comfortable writing desk in England. He does occasionally still slip into it - the introduction of one American extremist cult was a surprise - but there are far more hits here than misses.
Of note are the adventures of The Speckled Band, The Blue Carbuncle, and A Scandal in Bohemia. All of which were riveting and downright admirable in their craft. This book is the one that made me understand the mania there was for one man, his magnifying glass, and his trusty companion.
