My little sister recommended this to me because I loved "The summer I turned pretty." I saw audible had all 3 books for free, so I finished all 3 in 2 days. I loved these so much! It was such a cute story, but let me tell you, there were parts I was just rolling my eyes. Read it and get where I'm coming from.

i wasn't really sure where this one was going at first, and i'm not quite sure i'm a fan of the ending. HOWEVER, some of the conflict in this one felt more real and aggravating (in a satisfying and entertaining way). i will probably be team john ambrose mcclaren until i die. and maybe we should not be accepting absolute garbage treatment from a child named P E T E R of all things.

This book is too stinking cute. It covers a lot more that just first love, it also deals with growing apart. I love that in discovering love, Laura Jean learns a lot of life lessons that you don't really know about until its too late. Middle School and High School are two nasty beasts, that involve so much awkwardness, growing pains and self discovery. Love is hard, high school relationships are dumb, and this book is a perfect example of that. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating is the ending,
Spoiler I was team John Ambrose McClaren.

In this sequel (To All the Boys I've Loved Before) Lara Jean and Peter make it official: they begin dating. Things are difficult from the beginning when someone at school releases a hidden camera type recording of the two passionately kissing in the hot tub which looks like a leaked sex tape. Then, Peter begins spending a lot of time with Lara Jean's former best friend, Genevieve, with the excuse that she's going through a difficult time. Peter, ever faithful, won't reveal what the family issue is and Lara Jean is pretty suspicious of the time they spend together considering the two used to date and Geneveie's cousin, Chris, doesn't know about any family drama.

Meanwhile, Lara Jean is actively volunteering at a senior citizen center and using her creativity to spice up the resident activities. She treats her commitment to the senior center as if it is a paying job and finds that one of the most colorful residents is a relative of one of her long lost friends who came back into her life when her younger sister Kitty sent out Lara Jean's private love letters in the previous book.

With Margot in Scotland at school, Kitty is growing up and she's scheming to get their father set up with their neighbor who share many interests. She's also taken on the bulk of the responsibilities caring for the family's new puppy, which comes with both challenge and reward.

I love this family, the dynamic the Song sisters have is heart-warming and addictively readable. There's a teen love triangle with a few surprises worked in and the ending makes another book feel like a given.

Highly recommended for teen girls grades 8 and up.
