I listened to this audio book and it made me laugh. Grandpa Marries shortly after his wife dies because he doesn't want to be a burden on his daughters and he needs a cheap house keeper.

This book was very good. I don't remember every detail (i read it when i was in 4th grade) but I do remeber LOVING it. I even earned a nick name while reading it... "Sassy!"

I absolutely adored this book. I loved the narrator, the characters, the subject matter, the storytelling, the dialect...all of it! Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Olive Ann Burns is a master of the art of writing effortless stories about life that instruct and inspire.

I came to love Miss Love Simpson, and am a lil bit annoyed the book wasn't about her, and I give the author props for thinking her up. But damn, that ending sucked!

This book made me think in a southern accent. I can't say that I minded.
