This entire book really felt like a bingeable small town, folksy, mystery Netflix drama I’d watch in one sitting because it was so good. The beginning was a little slow for me to get into but once I right my rhythm around page 100 or so I could barely put it down, made the whole flight back home go by so quick! I loved most of the characters but especially Max, Cal, and Julia (oh also Alice (bless my heart)) Ellie grew on me in the end but I didn’t like her the most throughout and Peanut was a little too kooky. Some of the side characters I feel like could have been given more limelight but that’s barely a critique. The whole story is pretty quick moving, but it’s a powerful one and the found family is amazing as always in a KH book. Glad I read this one too!

Kristin Hannah never fails to entertain and make you wanting more. This was probably one of the best books. I’ve read in quite a long time. The characters were quite intriguing the plot line not only riveting but believable.
