Harriet Blue is in prison for murder when Police Commissioner Woods offers her a way out. His daughter, Tonya, and his granddaughter, Rebel, are missing, and he want Harriet to find them. Harriet, along with Tox and Whitt, uncovers a drug operation, buried remains, and an extortion plot, as well as a murder at the prison.
I thought there was way too much going on in this story. But, it was a quick read, and I will read the next Harriet Blue novel, if there is one.

Probably a dead average book. I mean it’s good, don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t feel attached to any of the characters besides Whitt. He’s a good guy and I liked him a lot, the others just annoy me a little bit to be honest.

I enjoyed some aspects of both of the investigations, but in the end I got bored of the one with the Dr being murdered. I think it fell a little flat and I didn’t like that
Harriet was supposed to be focusing on the case of the missing daughter and granddaughter and that was the only reason for her getting out of prison, just for her to focus all of her energy on the prison doctor case.

It’s also so unsurprising that she would be in love with Whitt just as he is with her, but for her to deny him of a relationship because she’s “too chaotic”. Feel like that’s a standard in a book like this.

All in all, it was good but I can’t say a lot about it without a bucket load of spoilers. That being said it isn’t one of the best crime novels I’ve read, and I probably wouldn’t recommend it but it’s definitely easy and quick to read.

I enjoy Harry’s escapades immensely and this one did not disappoint. Solid Patterson in that the story was quick and easy and I flew through it.

This was a quick listen on audiobook while I cleaned the house this week. Despite being a mystery novel, there was nothing that kept me me hooked. Patterson gets points for creativity in thinking up crime plots that aren’t overdone, and his storylines more realistic in the sense that he incorporates multiple crimes per book because real world law enforcement focuses on more than one case at a time. That being said, for the sake of character developmemt I would better enjoy one mystery per book, unless they all tied together somehow.

My first Patterson book. I found it campy, trite, and probably an experience similar to having restless leg syndrome.

I am a huge fan of Candice Fox. I love this series. All of it was great in this book.

I needed to finish the final book in the series and now that I have I can probably be done with this author. I found this to be a good conclusion to the series and wrapped several things up that were unresolved while also still being a new investigation. My main issue with this book and this series is this is the investigating that I wanted to see in book 1 not book 4.
