HOLY MOLY. That’s all I can say.

Loved every second! Great thriller
dark mysterious fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: Plot
Strong character development: Yes
Loveable characters: Complicated
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

Pretty good! Plot twists were well executed, no plot holes & tightly written. I did think the ending (like very last page) was a slight cop-out and would have had more impact if the author stuck to his guns.

Darby is racing through a blizzard to get to her mother's emergency surgery; she's had a tense relationship with her in the past but pancreatic cancer can be fatal and she wants to make things right. Unfortunately, she has no choice but to get off the road and finds herself in a shady Colorado rest stop with a few other odd strangers. When she's searching for signal bars in the snow, she notices that in one of the parked cars is a little girl bound and gagged in a dog cage. Which of the strangers has kidnapped this little girl, and how far will they go to get away with it?

Even though I was spoiled for the twists earlier in the book (unbeknownst to me), this was still really fun and fast-paced! The isolation and short time frame did wonders for the tension. I had no problem listening to the entirety of this in three sessions! Adams did a great job keeping multiple balls in the air and making sure they were all relevant by the conclusion. She also doesn't hold any punches when it comes to violence. Every twist (obviously besides the one I was spoiled for) was well-done; none of them knocked my socks off in shock, but all of them surprised me. I really liked the confusion that Adams made surrounding the last chapter, it really kept me on my toes and made me relisten a few times to catch what was happening. I'm not sure about the whole fetal alcohol syndrome thing? This will be a staple thriller recommendation I give in the future just based on pure fun (if you can consider the terrible stuff in here as fun) alone.

Brilliant book! The first quarter of the book had me nervous about reading it at all, but once I got into it, I couldn’t put it down. As it’s set in one place for the book’s entirety, you really feel like you’re there. And the fact that it’s nighttime and everyone’s snowed in gives the book even more of a creepy, claustrophobic feel. Very well written, and I look forward to more from this author.

Too many twists in the home stretch.

wow this was so intense, what an ending!

This book was very well done. I was a little unsure about it when it has to deal with a child. Darby is a badass who doesn't back down and finishes it out to the end. After making a discovery, she does all she can to make sure she sees dawn. There were parts of the book that were very descriptive and made me cringe. I would recommend this book.

I have only seen glowing reviews of this book till now, and to be honest, this book surpassed all my expectations.

I truly understood the meaning of the term "heart-in-my-throat" after reading No Exit. I couldn't stop reading, I couldn't put the book down till I knew how my favourite characters fared. The setting, the characters, the mania it was just perfect!

The antagonist, OH MY GOD, what an antagonist!

This book was gripping, addictive, and ridiculously fast-paced. It read like a movie, and given Taylor Adams' keen interest in film, I can absolutely attest to the excellent and vivid execution of his vision. I was impressed by his complete control over the narrative, clueing in readers on his own terms and steering them in a masterful way.

I just put the book down, but I feel as though I just left the theatre. That's how evocative Taylor Adams' storytelling is.
