I expected to be disappointed with this book because of the negative reviews but I was so pleasantly surprised. so much so, I felt compelled to write a review (my first). I loved the characters in this, to be honest. From the friendship between Anna and Sofia, to Samuel and the glimpses of Emma, and of course, Mr Mancini
This will be a controversial opinion this book everyones least favorite from Cora Rilys books but for me its one of the good ones i really loved it, the heroine was annoying which i totaly agree because of her lack of confidence but she had her reasons, but Danilo was my favorite character because he wanted to change to make it up to her and i loved how there relationship evolved slowly they gave each other time which is the factor needed for a successful relationship
Poor Sofia. Fuck everyone else. I wanted to rate this book higher because Sofia is so likable but I can't stand a single other character in this book including Danilo.
I read this book in one day! It was amazing, and I feel like Cora took her time with the couple as she should have! Sofia obviously wasn’t ready to move on from the past and neither was Danilo. Their relationship turned out well even with a Stefina incident. Sofia mentioned Stefina A LOT, but I was kind of expecting that because Stefina and Remo are the whole reason she was able to marry Danilo! I can’t wait for Emma and Samuels story! I know they’ll have a harder time adjusting than Sofia and Danilo, but I have faith that they’ll make it work and love will blossom!

I’m very conflicted with this. Overall I would say I enjoyed it and it was a good book but the first half really tested me. I almost wish that the book just started off with the wedding instead of following her growing up because the second hand embarrassment I got from that was enough to make me question putting the book down. I do love Cora Reilly’s writing and think that it’s super easy to get into. It was fun to see serafina and remo again and see that storyline from the point of view of Sofia. The second half of this book was fun and I flew through it. I would’ve loved to have seen more of their connection beyond the physical one and also not so much of a focus on that but overall a good time and I think this marks the end of my Cora Reilly journey for a while.

Sofia's annoys me but she's just a child. i get it feeling of living behind someone's shadow. My heart hurts for her who became a second choice. She was strong though.
