Really enjoyed the writing and world building. The far are also depicted in an interesting way with rules that shape their personalities. I do wish there were more characters interactions to see their reaction to the events that were taking place.

I felt that the world-building was lacking, I would've liked to have explored more of the world and magic system because I didn't really get much of a sense of either. It was also quite slow until the last few chapters when A LOT happened. I appreciated the twist, I thought it was quite clever so the end of the book definitely redeemed it for me. I will definitely continue on with the series; hopefully the momentum carries into the next book!

This book was definitely hard for me to get through. Not a lot happened in the beginning or middle of the story and most of it happened at the end. I will continue this series because I have the rest of the books but I hoped that it would be better.
