Please commit to the whole series it’s worth it. I find myself a little confused from time to time, like I don’t have all the information but it makes sense eventually. Not your average predictable story.
I’m going to write this review for each book and those who have finished will understand why.

I’ve been doing a re-read of this series and have found the books to start dragging. Between these first 4 books, I’m sure at least a book’s worth of content could have been cut. Everyone talks in circles and takes too long to reveal whatever it is they’re talking about. I zoned out quite a few times and didn’t bother to go back and read those parts again because I knew it wasn’t worth it. I’m gonna finish the re-read of the series but I’m starting to wonder why I loved this series so much.

Also, I think I’d have a hard time being romantically interested in someone who referred to me as a simpleton (even if they were just talking about my ancestors and “it was a different time”)

I love this book because it’s a great STORY. The writing is awesome and funny, there’s action, there’s mystery, and of course there’s romance. Although this is a romance RH, the romance doesn’t overtake the story- it’s about so much more than that. Violet is such a simple but complex character- I love watching her navigate her relationships with the guys who are so used to complicated games that they don’t know what to do with her. At first I was a little worried at the end for what the future will bring for Violet, but then I remembered that whatever these old stuffy characters think is going to happen to or around Violet is usually the exact opposite! I love watching her prove them all wrong. I really hope Anna got the memo- I miss her! Can’t wait for the next book!

Just to be clear, I like this series and did enjoy this book. It’s not literally masterpiece but it keeps me interesting for 4 books now and that´s something. 3 stars because I just can’t seem to care about the gypsy politics. The characters and relationships are much more of a driving point for me and I have to say I would enjoy more. For reverse harem, it is slowburn-ish.

As not at all emphatic person, I have hard time with the “lets save the Simpletons” part of the story. Yes, destiny, made for this, bla bla… The monstar quad aren’t the only ones who need to be persuated to care.

DNF @ 85 %

I can't believe I had to DNF another book (and series) so close to the end again, but at this point I don't even know what is happening anymore!? This book is confusing the heck out of me, and my patience was running thin for quite some time now.

I'm just tired of all the talking and never actually saying anything, of all the back-and-forth and puzzles and allusions. The world-building is all over the place and I don't even know how to visualize half of the cast. How is that even possible in f**kin' book four?

Sadly, I think I'm done with Kristy's / C.M.'s books. While she can be extraordinarily funny, she just keeps throwing her ideas at the reader without any filter, and while I'm quite ok to go with the flow for a while, I don't like to be kept in the dark endlessly—or wait for the author to figure out where to go with her story over several hundert pages of rambling mindfuckery.

(Oh how I love Caro's review.)
