This book gave me all the feels!! I just love everything I’ve read from Elle Kennedy so far, & this book is no different. Fitz is an idiot, but when he decides to finally be smart, he dives in with both feet & he finally fights for what he wants!! I love it!! And Summer is stubborn & goes after what she wants, but she’s also smart & knows what she deserves, & if the two clash, she stays true to herself! And the two of them really are meant to be, they bring the best out of each other! I love characters like that. I wish I had someone like that to bring the best out of me.

"The Chase" attempts to debunk the stereotype of Summer as an airhead, but unfortunately, her actions throughout the book reinforce this perception. While it's unfair to judge her solely based on her privilege, her lack of awareness of its advantages was frustrating as a reader. Additionally, the lack of chemistry between Summer and Collin further weakens the plot. Moreover, the absence of a satisfying resolution left me feeling unsatisfied, with loose ends and unresolved conflicts lingering. Overall, "The Chase" falls short in delivering a compelling storyline and fails to create engaging character dynamics, resulting in a disappointing reading experience.

I wish this hit the way I wanted it to. Like, don't get me wrong. I stayed up from 10PM to 4AM to read it because I just had to know how it all played out. But I don't know what it was that maybe just... eh, about this book.

I loved Fitz and Summer. I love a, "she drives him crazy but he is obsessed with her because she drives him crazy." Her struggles with her learning disorder were refreshing to read about, as well as seeing Summer grow and not put herself down and be mean to herself because she learns differently. Also, seeing Fitz learn to open up and not be so guarded with his emotions around Summer was very sweet!

But maybe it was the college drama that just soured the thing for me. I know -- I'm reading a book about college students. College students do stupid things -- like lust after one roommate knowing your OTHER roommate has a thing for you. I felt so bad for Hunter! But also... how could he NOT TELL SUMMER AND FITZ WERE INTO EACH OTHER?!?! But the pettiness of the back and forth between Summer and Fitz, Fitz and Hunter, and Summer and Nora got frustrating. It's where I realize if the characters just talked to one another, most of their issues would be resolved. But they don't. And then issues occur. And it's a frustrating kind of drama.

But I enjoyed the romance and the spice, and I the end I was really rooting for Summer and Fitz. And I can't wait to see them pop up in the next novels in this series.
