It’s always been a dream of mine to own a bookstore in a Hallmark Christmas town - this read has similar vibes. Emilia is dealing with the unexpected passing of her father while taking over the family business, Nightingale Books. An incredibly cozy read, that made me want to climb right into the pages!

I read this for book club. I do not usually read romance, but I enjoyed tis one. It was undemanding for the busy Christmas period. It read like a romcom film and most of the characters happily paired off by the end, all wrapped up in a Christmas bow. Th town and the bookshop were idyllic, I wish I lived there. I enjoyed the numerous bookish references and came away with several booklists. I am certainly not as well read as I thought I was. I will give it a 7 and a thumbs up in book club. What's not to like.

Helt okej bok. Tyckte slutet kom lite väl snabbt, men annars en skön läsning.

What a lovely book

I feel more elegant having read this book. It was so smartly written and some of the descriptors felt like I was watching a movie montage. It was beautiful. The entire cast of characters all orbited around one another and were drawn together because of the bookshop. I’m so glad I read this book.

3 and a half
At first I kept picking this book apart--why does every book about a book store have to follow the same storyline lately: Young relative (daughter, niece, granddaughter) loses older revered book store owning relative who bequeaths said store to young relative. Young relative loves store that has helped shape who they have become as an adult, but is distraught to find out what dire financial straits the store is in. It is like Hallmark movies!! But, you know what? I love Hallmark movies and it looks like I love book store books too! This is lightweight--really quite superficial in character and plot development. Recommended for when you don't want to think too hard (except to remember who all the characters are--she does tend to throw them at us rather quickly)

I got this from a list of books about books--a category I enjoy exploring.

This was a lovely read. A hallmark movie if it were on a high budget with excellent writers and an A list cast. 10/10 will read again during the holidays.
