The best Argeneau story in a while. Action, adventure and love. We finally find out where the kidnappers were taking the twins (before they escaped) unfortunately others have been successfully kidnapped and Lucian and the rogue hunters are trying hard to find them. Immortal Chef Domitian Argenis may not be a rogue hunter but he has an invitation to the very island where they think the kidnappers have taken the others and to top it off that is where his life mate is. He can’t not go. The kidnapper is a horrific cross between Dr. Mengele and Dr. Moreau and the things we see cannot be unseen. It’s up to a chef and a human cop to get the information to Lucian and the rogue hunters before they too are experimented upon. This is a fast paced grab you by the seat of you pants rocket ride of a paranormal romance. I loved it.

I wish I could get the plot without romance. It kind of dragged the story for me. I wanted to know about the search for the immortal-kidnapper instead. However, I know that this is supposed to be romance so I guess I would have to read around the couple's journey to coupledom even if I feel it comes at the expense of the plot.

Mit diesem Teil der Reihe hatte ich gerade anfangs arge Probleme. Ich lese diese Reihe vor allem wegen ihrer unglaublich sympathischen Charaktere, der meist angenehm dahinplätschernden Story und dem leichten Humor. Hier war es aber sehr hart am Anfang. Man muss hier Szenen miterleben, die absolut an meine Grenze als Wohlfühlbuchleser gehen. Auch das man nicht genau wusste, ob es sich bei den Opfern, um Charaktere handelte, die man schon kannte, war sehr unangenehm. So oder so war es für mich eher belastend.
Am Anfang verfolgt man wie meistens in der Reihe die beiden Hauptprotagonisten getrennt voneinander und meisten dann Sarita. Sie ist wieder ein sehr angenehmer Charakter. Umso mehr störte es mich, dass sich Domintian und sie unter so grausamen Umständen kennen und lieben lernen mussten. Ab dem Zeitpunkt wo die beiden zusammentreffen,war das Hörbuch aber für mich wieder genau so ein Genuss wie die anderen Teile der Reihe. Domintian sticht jetzt aus den Helden nicht unbedingt heraus, aber das ist okay für mich. Wirklich interessant wurde dieser Teil vor allem durch das was der verrückte Wissenschaftler, der die beiden entführt, auf seine Insel alles erschaffen hat. Das könnte sogar Stoff für eine Spin-Off Reihe geben. Ich bin gespannt.
Also Leser, denen die anderen Teile immer zu langweilig waren, werden hier begeistert sein. Ich hoffe allerdings, dass der nächste Teil wieder etwas ruhiger wird.

I really enjoyed this book. It's action packed and love the romance between Sarita and Domitian. Sarita is a very strong female character. Love it!

Immortal Unchained is the twenty fifth book in the Argeneau series and I just loved getting to reenter this amazing world. This book introduces us to some new characters and I just had so much fun getting to go on their journey. I was just drawn in and I just didn’t want it to end. I was so sad to turn the last page and I immediately wanted more of these amazing characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.
Good read but take down could have been improved.
