This book follows Briggs, the NHL’s notorious playboy, and Autumn—his best friend’s little sister—who just so happens to be the one saving him from a total media disaster. The solution to fixing his image? Fake dating. And to really sell the story, they end up moving in together.
Autumn has always had a crush on Briggs, so you already know things are about to get complicated. But honestly, this is exactly the kind of trope I eat up every single time. I waited way too long to pick this one up, but I’m so glad I finally did because it made the read even sweeter.
This story makes you hopeful for the characters one moment and angry for them the next, keeping you completely hooked. It’s equal parts fun, frustrating, and swoon-worthy. I absolutely loved it—it was amazing!

Autumn works for a PR company that's hired to save the reputation of the Hawkeyes Hockey team, especially Briggs. Autumn knows Briggs. Or at least she did. He's best friends with her older brother and he was always around while growing up. Since he signed on with the NHL, she doesn't know who he is. She's shocked when she finds out about the scandal he's about to hit and agrees with help him out when her boss suggests they fake date.
I felt like this was a decent story. I want to know more about Autumn's brother so I'll have to go looking to see if he has his own book.

This might be the worst book I’ve ever read. It definitely needed an editor to catch the countless continuity errors. She took an uber there, but suddenly she is driving home? Did her car teleport to her?? There were also several grammatical and punctuation errors. Another round of editing would have also helped how ridiculously repetitive it was. Like I get it. The team colors are teal and black. I do not need to be reminded for a 6th time in less than 100 pages. I am not an idiot, thank you.
The characters were likeable enough, but they lacked any depth or real character growth. I couldn’t tell you anything about them besides what they do for work and that they love each other. I probably would’ve overlooked this if it weren’t for the writing style.
My main issue was that the entire book was TELLING me what happened step by step instead of painting a picture. First I did this. Then, I did that. I have this thought because…. There was no reading between the lines for anything.
In conclusion, I picked this book after being bombarded with ads on Instagram, but this turned into a full- on rage read at the 40% mark, but I honestly should’ve dnfed it to save myself the time.
