TW: SA, physical abuse, and gaslighting.

The woman main character gets blamed for things that aren't her fault, sexually assaulted, and physically assaulted, and doesn't get a single apology. The whole book. But she keeps going back because she's just SOOO attracted to him. Like... what? Books like this will keep more and more girls in abusive relationships for far longer than they ever should be.

The audacity!!!!

I have read my fair share of cliffhangers over the years BUT THIS! I am fuming

I've never felt so betrayed by an author hyping up their own book on TikTok. This was nothing like it was described.

I thought I was getting forced proximity bully romance with a hint of chaos.
What I actually got was 100 pages of abuse-porn, weak character and relationship building that hinged on pity, and the most unlikeable MMC I've ever read.

And of course it ended on a cliffhanger so I had to continue to trudge through the duet for any sense of resolution.
Spoiler: I'm still disappointed.

I love a good bully romance like the next person, but this was a little much at times. It was more than bully and I’m not sure I can describe it. PLUS it ends in a cliff hanger and I had no idea.

DID NOT FINISH: 56%

Honestly after the first time they do it and he puts his hands around her neck, as a huge over reaction, then leaves her in bed and doesnt talk to her for several days. With no explanation or apology by the way. He is irredeemable nothing anyone says can make me like him. I don’t care about anything else he has to say because who cares. I dont care what happened to you or about your little stupid dr appointments.

I read this book as a stand alone and it worked for me. There is dubious consent, and I did not enjoy that scene. Overall the intimate moments delivered and the characters seemed to have good chemistry. I appreciated that the female protagonist is plus sized (really it was the reason I picked this one up) and that each character was able to open up about their pasts.
