This is an interesting read, and it shows some of the earlier styles present in Sandra Brown's writing. She has certainly improved since the release of this book.
The main plot is apparent to the readers but not to the characters, which can sometimes be frustrating to readers. It is generally about a moral decision and who is deserving of a reward. It's a good mind-game and philosophical question to ask yourself that is embedded in a thriller.
It fast-paced, graphic, and thrilling to read. She could have done better, but it is a good book nontheless.

It's been a long while since I've read any of Sandra Brown's books. It was nice to return to her books.
I enjoyed this read. It's a good suspense novel with a lot of information withheld as to what is really going on. Each time you think you've got it figured out another layer to the conundrum is pulled back. I liked Rye and Brynn as characters and thought they were a good match for each other. The romance itself suffered a little for how quickly everything was happening. But I liked the way things came together in the end.
Rye's been through a lot with his military career and I appreciated that Brynn entering his life brought hope and a will to live that he was running from. Brynn has a huge heart and is going to fight to the ends of the earth for her patients. I liked these two learning to trust each other and discover that really they're on the same side. Rye might have crashed, but he's not going to let that slide by and he's going to fight to figure out exactly what all is going on. Brynn's got her secrets, but the more that she gets to know Rye the more she realizes that he's not going to be fighting against her.
Good suspenseful story.

Listened to the audio CD but did NOT like the narrator. Not enough distinction between character voices. I am surprised to say that I did not love the plot either. The main storyline was great.. but too much romance and violence in a short time frame.
It was fine I guess. I didn’t really feel the high stakes pressure I was supposed to, so I was only half invested. However, the reader for this was fantastic. He definitely made this more enjoyable than if I read it on my own.
Although I loved the characters Rye and Brynn, this was not one of my favorite Sandra Brown books. I finished the book because I was curious what would happen but this one was not very suspenseful until the last 1/4th of the book.
This book was not as good as the author's others. I listened to the audiobook, the narrator was absolutely horrible. The book was probably ruined by the narrator.

Before I get started, just let me say that before I even open the first page of one of Sandra Brown's books that I was fairly certain that it is going to be five stars, top of the line. Tailspin most assuredly proved that fact to be true. Kudos to Sandra Brown, who has the moniker, the Queen of Suspense. What she has done in this book is solid proof that she deserves that title.
This story takes place over just two days time. When pilot Rye Mallett agrees to fly at a very dangerous time of night due to the weather, things exploded as the plane was sabotaged and he is forced to crash land. He was to deliver a critical package to a Dr. Lambert. But, it is not Dr. Lambert that came to pick up the package, it is Dr. Brynn O'Neal who comes for it. What is in the black box that Rye was delivering? Brynn won't say and suddenly, they both are in grave danger, and she and Rye are in a race against time. The package remains a mystery to Rye at first, but while trying to help Brynn, despite the ever-present danger, he realizes how drawn he is to her. It is just the same for Brynn. Their chemistry is undeniable.
I read this book at breakneck speed. The first 65% flew by in one sitting, and due to other obligations I had to take a break. Then I read the rest of the book like it was just a few pages. THAT is how good the story is. I was gripped right from the very beginning. During this incredible ride, there are many exciting twists and turns, especially during those final chapters. WOW! I could not even imagine which direction things would take.
This is no sweet romance. When Rye and Brynn come together, although definitely not the focus of this book, it is incendiary. With this being a romantic suspense, we know that the characters will end up together. However, Sandra Brown does a good job in creating enough conflict for readers to believe that it just cannot happen. Both of these characters were strong and memorable, and the plot was fluent. This is an exceptional read, and utterly thrilling. I most assuredly look forward Ms. Brown's next book.
I want to extend a huge thank you to Grand Central Publishing for this ARC to review. This review reflects my honest opinion.
