Typical Sandra Brown - mystery/danger tied in with some romance. This time, Rye Mallett is a pilot, struggling with his past. He was a pilot who flew missions overseas, and is haunted by something that happened.
Now, he is being asked to fly a mysterious package to Atlanta, in fog that is so thick that all the airports have closed. But, Rye is determined to do it, and flies to a small airfield that is still open. Upon coming in for a landing, he is blinded by a laser and crashes the plane. The package is to be delivered to a Dr. Lambert, and the package holds a miracle drug.
Upon crashing, Rye meets Dr. Brynn O'Neal, who is Dr. Lambert's partner. But, Brynn has a trick up her sleeve - she wants the drug for a young child who is dying, instead of for the senator that Lambert is planning to treat. However, she must be secretive about all of this.
Meanwhile, the senator and his wife are not on the up and up, either. Everything is all mixed up and tension builds as time goes by, as the drug is only good for a certain period of time.
A lot of back stabbing and double crossing, as per typical Sandra Brown.
I wasn't as entertained in this book, but it was OK.
