On the fence for this book. World felt too convoluted, fmc was the most beautiful and clever, mmc too broody. But there were fun moments and I liked the side characters a lot. Don’t think I’ll be continuing.

Four stars. Clearly a beauty and the beast retelling, except unhinged with lots of unexpected turns. Lots of comic relief! Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I really tried but man this was bad. I feel like a 16 year old wrote this book and tried really hard to be funny. Got to 43% and I tapped out.

Loved this book! Found it through a recommendation on the Fourth Wing Reddit page. The FMC has some fun lines and I love her inner monologue as well!
Part of the magic system seems to include plants and poisons/antidotes so it’s a fun take.

I feel like maybe this story didn't need to be a series (trilogy?).
It was an okay read but I am probably not intrigued enough to continue reading.
