I almost DNF’d this but I hate starting and not finishing a book. Thankfully it was short and quick so didn’t take too much of my time to get through it.
I honestly couldn’t connect with this story or understand what all the hype is about. Super disappointing because Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney movies

Like a weird super smutty parody of A Court of Thorns and Roses and Beauty and the Beast. I appreciated that the plot follows similar lines but becomes it's own thing. The writing and inner monologues leave a LOT to be desired. I nearly quit for a good portion due to the writing and odd worldbuilding. Finley is oddly fixated with being disgusted with her public hair.
I enjoyed the back and forth between our main characters and see their compatibility though there's improvement needed in their characterization. Overall, this isn't good but it was enjoyably bad as a parody.
For the rest of the series:The parody element of this series is lost after the first book but the writing also improves a little bit. Worldbuilding remains very sparse throughout. The plot becomes more central in the next books but action writing is not the author's specialty and it shows. The length significantly increases with it which makes it read slow or repetitive at times. I found the relationship strengthens well and the smut continues to be frequent though it was very repetitive by the end and I started skipping. The characterization does remain surface level with a couple of traits forming the entire character.
Overall, I loved the early relationship the most but found the plot in the third book the most engaging. The series ends on a long, drawn out book that really didn't do much for anyone and the actual epilogue was laughably bad.

What a retelling
A different twist to the Beauty and the Beast story. I loved both main characters - Finley and Nyfain.
Finley is such a smart and capable FMC, stubborn, and of course, gifted with a smartassery.
Nyfain is the broody dragon prince who's sometimes an asshole but has moments of vulnerability. You can see he's scarred and not just physically. The type that women want to save lol.

Definitely a parody of ACOTAR's retelling of Beauty and the Beast, but it was funny. The FMC's speech can be a little grating and eye-roll inducing but it's relatively easy to get past, and it's much better in book two.
