After how much I loved The Takeover, I had high hopes for this book, but have to say I was left disappointed! The story had a lot of potential it just didn't deliver on. I found Elliott to be completely unlikeable, even in his sweet and supposedly loving moments. It coming off the back of how much I loved Tristan didn't really help, and I didn't really connect with or buy into his and Kate's relationship. The decisions he made put me off and the ending, which was meant to tie everything up and redeem his character, just felt forced and cliche, and if I'm honest I saw it coming.
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but after reading them all back to back it was really noticeable how the author repeats a lot of the same descriptors in all three books; similar dialogue, and the exact same phrases and descriptions throughout. It took me out of the book being honest and felt like a lot of the writing was being recycled over and over. Also felt the penpal sub-plot should have been a bigger part of the story; it didn't spark the relationship, it didn't build the relationship, in the end it was barely mentioned and didn't add anything so became pretty redundant.
Overall it wasn't a bad read. I enjoyed the humour as always with this author, and I do love the banter and relationship between the brothers. The ducks saga was also great! I wouldn't say I disliked it, but it did leave a lot to be desired. I still enjoy this author though, and I'll still definitely be reading The Do-Over when it comes out, I just hope Christopher is a more likeable character than Elliott turned out to be.

Oh my gosh this book was AMAZING!! I love love loved Elliot and Kate’s relationship at the start, but at the end is when I truly fell in love with the characters.
Their personalities might be on complete different sides of the spectrum, but them two together are truly a match made in heaven. Their banter and loving relationship made me swoon throughout the whole book, and the plot twist at the end honestly made the book 1000x better.
Elliot and the farm animals had to be one of my favorite parts, solely because of how much he hated them. It was so adorable watching both him and Kate fall in love with their forever home, and I couldn’t have imagined a better plot line. The story was so detailed and thorough, and I can tell that the book was very thought out
Kate and Elliot literally made me believe in love, and the side characters - the brothers - improved the story tenfold.
Overall, this book was such a fun read to listen to, and I literally love Elliot and Kathryn the most out of everyone so far. I can’t believe there’s only one more book left

I freaking love this series. Tristan remains my fave BUT The Casanova Elliot held his own. I fell hard for these two and was totally taken by their banter and the love/hate tension that pulsated through the story. Possessive and intense Mr Miles was easy for me to fall hard for. His heart is so big but he is reluctant to share this fact with anyone but his closest family and loved ones. When he exposes his real self you can't help but melt into a swoony love filled puddle. So so good. Kate is sad and withdrawn, a dulled version of herself until she finds herself in the grip of her asshole boss. Sparks fly and in true TL Swan fashion the heat is CRAZY FN HOT. Like retinas burn people. FIRE. This series is a must read and The Casanova fit the bill perfectly. COming soon. Thank you Netgalley and TL Swan for the advanced copy. xoxo
I liked it
I liked the story. It was a good quick read and the couple’s journey wasn’t simple. I think I read it series out of order.

THIS IS NOT REALLY ABOUT ONLINE DATING!
The blurb is only related to the book like 10% of the time.
They really chose to advertise this in a weird way!
3/5, typical TL Swan book!

Immaculate plot twist. Minus 0.5 from full 5 stars rating because both MCs have maturity level of a 15-year-old teenager. Geez.
