[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

Dear Mr. Brody is the third book in the For Him series by A.M. Johnson. Donovan Brody is a recently divorced father who is taking on a second career as a professor teaching creative writing. He is immediately entranced by one of his student’s genuine talents for writing and tries to encourage Parker Mills to pursue his skill in writing. Meanwhile he has decided to pursue his inexperience with his bisexualty with a dating app. He immediately connects with another anonymous user and upon their first meet up is horrified to find that the man he feels such a strong bond with is none other than Parker Mills. Putting the risks aside they begin a relationship and when reality threatens to tear them apart will they be strong enough to stand by each other’s side.

Donovan ‘Van’ Brody is lonely even when surrounded by his good friends at Lowe Literary and spending time with his daughter Anne. He takes a risk he’d never consider when he begins speaking with Parker through the dating app. He is able to explore his sexuality and preference in a safe place with someone who respects his boundaries and doesn’t push for me. Van and Parker warmed my heart because they wanted the domestic bliss as much as the sheet burning up sexy times. This balance led me to feel their connection deep down.

“It could be waking up with him and toothpaste kisses. It could be watching him grow as an author. It could be waffles with Anne on weekends, and late-night movies with my head in his lap.”

Parker Miller is an old soul who found his match in his sexy, shy creative writing professor. They are able to bond through the app and get past some of the awkwardness of getting to know each other. He compliments Van by having experience sexually but not in a serious relationship. That is another area where they are able to grow and learn together. Parker’s previous trauma doesn’t prevent him from trusting Van with his heart.

“Waffles and rain and books and blushes. Dirt and grass. Late-nights showers and more firsts.”

I am a big fan of the For Him series because they are emotional books that put you through the ringer without being too unrealistic. The situations and circumstances the characters find themselves in are real problems that anyone could experience. I enjoyed the pacing and felt that Van and Parker worked towards strong feelings although they immediately had a connection. The use of mixed media made me extremely happy just like the other two books. I am really hoping for a Marcos/Chance book please and thank you!

4.5 stars for a teacher learning the most important lessons in love from one of his students.

***Re-read lead me to round this up to 5 stars because I just fell for Van and Parker all over again***

Another beautiful book in the For Him series.
This is a slow burn, low angst story. Van and Parker were so sweet with each other. I really enjoyed watching their relationship grow.
As always, loved seeing the other couples pop up hear and there, and can not wait for Chance and Marcos next.

The book wasn't bad but there wasn't a single thing new about this book. I have read the exact same story written by several authors before and I still read this wanting something unique, which wasn't there.
