Van Brody and Parker Mills are a delightful pairing as they navigate what it means to be in a slightly forbidden relationship (as Van is Parker’s professor)

Van is also coming to terms with his bisexuality and Parker is there helping him along the way. The text messages were hot as they were so adorably sweet.

I enjoyed the characters on a whole as they were both men of integrity and they trusted each other with the truths that defined them. Annie, Van’s daughter, was fantastic with her quick wit and almost ambivalent acceptance of Van and Parker’s relationship.

Characters from the other books made an appearance and it was so nice to see them again.

Recommend this book for the sweetness and the romantic heartbeat of the story.

*I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review*

Oh, I adored this. This was such a feel good, comforting and sweet romance.

This focuses on Donovan Brody, who started work at Anders' literary agency a few years back and who at the beginning of this ends up divorcing his wife when she cheats on him. He's always known he's bisexual, but he'd only been with her his whole life since they started dating in high school, and now that they're no longer together he wants to explore that part of himself.

He's also started working as a teacher part time too at the university, and in his class is Parker Mills, a 24 year old who was in the Air Force for four years and is now, later in life, getting a college degree.

He also gets a suggestion from Wilder to get on the Pegasus app to find someone to potentially date, and on there he meets a guy who he really likes, and who should he happen to be but one Parker Mills.

Donovan tries to put a stop to it when they first find out about each other, seeing as he is Parker's teacher. But Parker is an adult and they have a connection that Donovan can't and doesn't want to walk away from.

They just need to hide their relationship until December anyway, when the class will be over and Parker will no longer be his student.

I enjoyed these two together so much. This just felt sweet, fun, and sexy all the way through. I loved the connection Parker gained with Van's daughter, Anne, too, and just reading about them falling in love was a treat.

This was definitely on par for me with the second one, I loved these two together. They just had an instant connection that worked so well together and I just loved their chemistry together.

And yes, even though there's the whole student/teacher thing, because they're both adults and there's only 9 years between them, it didn't feel like too big a deal. Van could have still been fired, but it's still just different when they're both full blown adults. They still had to hide it for 3 and a half months, but it never felt too illicit or forbidden or anything like that. It felt right between them.

There was barely any conflict too, and I liked that. The problems that they did have they were able to work out fairly quickly and it wasn't overly dramatic or convoluted.

So overall, this a definitely thumbs up from me. I think the next one will be about Marcos, Parker's best friend, and Chance, the new director or whatever for the LGBT+ shelter that Parker worked out. Will be fun to read.

I definitely recommend this sweet, light, fairly angst-free installment with two wonderful MC's who have wonderful chemistry together.

Fantastic writing but…

This would be an excellent shot story. For a novel, the story and the characters are not enough. Bonus for the playlist at the end!

Considering how many shirtless torso cover books I've read and loved, I really need to stop judging a book by its (shirtless) cover. This book was absolutely wonderful, so sweet, and fun, and hot, and I'm fully in love with Van and Parker

"Underneath all the chaos there was a shining light. Me and him. And I was enough."

📖 The Details.
Donovan Brody is a literary agent and part time professor.  He's also fresh from a divorce and exploring his sexuality for the first time.  Insert anonymous dating app chats and eventually meeting someone who seems your perfect match only to find out he's your student...

📖 My Thoughts.
First impression: adorable!  Parker, on the surface, is your typical cocky college dude.  And Donovan is just trying to figure out who he is, a little later in life.  Luckily, Parker - while a student- has some lessons of his own.  These two have great chemistry and some of the absolute cutest moments.

It's pretty low angst throughout and even though it's the 3rd book in a series, I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not having read the previous books. I'm curious about the other characters now though!  Marcos might be one of my favorite side characters ever so I see his book in my very near future.

🎵 The Playlist.
Drive All Night by Joan
"I wanna drive all night, I wanna be alone with you, follow the moonlight, I wanna drive all night, only me and you, into the sunrise."
  • There's a scene when Donovan and Parker wake up together for the first time. They're standing at the bathroom sink, brushing their teeth together- this is the song I imagine would be playing in the background if it was a movie.
