This issue was really similar to the first episode of the show, which was really fun to read. And the illustrations were exquisite! I will definitely be continuing to read this comic series.

Will be picking up more of these books hopefully and will check out the tv show I think. Watched a few episodes here and there before but will put this down for a Netflix marathon if I can

As a fan of the TV show I thought I'd give this a go as it was free for Kindle on Amazon. I found it a very entertaining introduction to the world of "The Walking Dead" and would definitely be interested in reading more in the series. 3.5 stars.

Always wanted to read the comic of the walking dead and now I have it. It is nice to see some similarities with the series, not all but some. I liked how it is drawn. The issues are not too long. Makes me wonder about issue 2.

Usually you read the source material to get a more in depth look into the a story. Unfortunately, reading this after watching the show does not satisfy that want. The show fleshes everything out from the comics, instead of the other way around.
If you're looking for alternate plots, then this is a good choice. But, if you're like me and wanted more incite into the characters, this is not the place for you.

I didn’t know these existed! I loved the overall design of this comic and I am so happy to be reading this series.

Admittedly, I've never watched the TV show, nor have I read any of the comics, books or anything to do with The Walking Dead before. This was a free option on Amazon, so I figured it was a great place to start, to give me a taste of the plotting and storytelling.

For me, I felt like something was missing. I like that it was more 'human' focused - more about how humans deal with the zombie issue than about blood and gore. I like that the humans have never heard of zombies before, so they don't know how to deal with them. The illustrations were great, but I feel like my issue - black and white - was lacking a little something that could have made it pop, if it had been in colour. It could have just added that bit more realism or relatability.

Overall, something missing that I can't figure out, but generally good.
