First time reading Kennedy Ryan and It was okay. Could have been 100 pages shorter though

this was such a heavy story, but so emotional and beautifully written.

I am in awe of Kennedy Ryan’s writing how she was able to capture the emotions, these two characters were feeling in such a tumultuous time of their lives. The descriptions of depression were so beautifully well done, and it felt very realistic and accurate, even though this is a romance think this was more about Yasmen& Josiah’s and their whole families journey  with their mental health, and how that led them to find each other again.

The family dynamics were captured so vividly and realistically I just felt like such an accurate depiction of what a family would go through after a series of losses like they had suffered.

This was just so thrilling to read and so honest and heartfelt. I really enjoyed this and I can’t wait to read Kennedy Ryan ‘s other works.

"Before I Let Go" by Kennedy Ryan is a novel that has unexpectedly captured my heart, flipping my reading preferences on their head. Let me just put it out there: I never fancied myself as a connoisseur of romance novels. Yet, here I am, not just dipping my toes, but fully immersing myself in the deep, emotive waters of Kennedy Ryan's storytelling, and have added a few more of her books on my TBR.

Ryan's writing style is a masterful blend of lyrical and raw, painting vivid pictures and evoking emotions that resonate deeply. This isn't just a story; it's an experience, a journey into the hearts and minds of characters who feel so real, they could be your neighbors, your friends, or even a reflection of yourself.

The characters in "Before I Let Go" are intricately crafted, each with their own flaws, strengths, and complex emotions. Ryan doesn't just write characters; she breathes life into them, making them leap off the page. You find yourself rooting for them, crying with them, and most importantly, growing with them. Yasmen's journey, in particular, is a beautifully rendered arc of self-discovery, love, and resilience.

One of the standout aspects of this novel is its emotional depth. Kennedy Ryan doesn't shy away from the messy, complicated parts of life and relationships. She explores themes of loss, love, and redemption with a deft hand, ensuring that the story stays grounded in reality while soaring in the realms of the emotional and the poetic.

Moreover, the romance in the book is handled with a maturity and realism that I don't think I've ever read before in a book. It's not just about the grand gestures or the fiery passion (though there's plenty of that too); it's about the quiet moments, the understanding and acceptance of each other's flaws, and the building of a partnership that feels genuinely earned.

In conclusion, "Before I Let Go" is a triumph of romance writing. It's a novel that will tug at your heartstrings, make you believe in the power of love, and perhaps, like me, convert you into a romance novel enthusiast. Kennedy Ryan has set the bar incredibly high with this one, and I am eagerly awaiting her next masterpiece. If you haven't picked up this book yet, do yourself a favor and dive in. You won't regret it.

Second chance romances are not my favorite but Yasmen and Josiah’s story had me gripped. The story felt so genuine and real, I can’t wait for Ryan’s next book.

This is a beautifully written story about forgiveness and finding yourself again. The characters are relatable and deep, the spice level is certainly there. I enjoyed this story from start to finish.

Where does the love go?? Nowhere. The love stays.

My first Kennedy Ryan read and I am forever changed. This is my favorite read of the year. This book was amazing. It was emotional and sad and funny and loving and real and raw. Yas and Josiah, and all their friends and family felt so real. And I absolutely love them and reading their love story. I have never giggled and blushed and kicked my feet and screamed and cried as much as I did reading this book. I don’t remember the last time I read a 300+ book in one day. Like any free moment I had, I was picking this book up. I’m about to go listen to the audiobook while I cook breakfast rn just because I’m not ready to leave these characters and Skyland. I’m so excited for Sol’s story, March can’t come quick enough lol and I’m glad I preordered my copy the other day (before I had even started the book mind you lol)

Ryan is easily one of my favorite authors. She has this way with words that I can’t even put into words. It’s just beautiful and tender and I’m just so glad I picked this book up. I’ll have more thoughts later. But yeah, my number 1 of 2023 for sure.

each and every individual character had their own voice, their own story.
the dialogue of every character was so distinct and though the topics varied through heavy and emotional situations, the lightness and fun sprinkled into the story was delightful.
the narritive comes full circle and in the end is so heartwarming and satisfying.

i learned that love is not how inherently good it is, but it is more how you can fight through the bad and find your way back to eachother when times are tough.
