good book, for me it was a fun holliday read. Mostly entertaining dialouges but mostly because one character is almost always clearly correct and tricking the other one, so you can feel smug with them (e.g virgin Sutt vs. chad Mallow). Not really character development, which is not a flaw imo, because the scope of the story is very large scale. Only thing i didnt like is that there were only two women who had like 10 lines in total. Jesus christ, im glad they changed it in the show

Love the premise. The book feels like a series of short stories spiralling from a main event. There a lot of exposition and reads a lot like an old movie where long explanations are needed. Book One feels like it’s just setting the scene. I’m excited to see where it goes.

Social science fiction that foregoes the usual cool space battles for tense conversations before and after the action. Also filled with imaginative ideas about technology and futurism, but can’t imagine a woman having a first name.

what a romp! would be nice to latch onto characters a little more but that would be buying clothes at the soup store so
2.75 - I thought I was going to love this book more than I did and yes, it is not a bad book at all, BUT it is not a great book especially in terms of its writing style, at least for my taste. I found the story intriguing and clever, but it didn't strike me as much as I hoped it would. Will I still continue the series? Very likely, I will, and hopefully, it will get better.
Fun fact: Wait a minute, Asimov was American? For some reason, I always thought he was Russian - because of his name, the photos I have seen of him, something I read about him that said that, etc. or was I just imagining it?
