I love the way Horowitz writes. It's the best type of audiobook to read because it feels like a friend telling me about their day. I want to be friends with him because of how silly he is.

This was a good book. We get to learn more about Hawthorne and see a different, more hateful, side of him and his past. It was interesting how he talked about not being a detective to put bad people behind bars and yet that was all he did throughout the book. It was also more interesting than the previous book because of the personal ties to Hawthorne and the way literally three separate sets of suspects were gone through/killed/exonerated.

I loved how everything was foreshadowed, the mom and sister duo being the ones to kill, Horowitz referring to the motherly feel throughout the book, and all the other parts as well. I never would've guessed it, but it was all there. I'm also very glad the child pornographer was gotten rid of. Hawthorne did good there.

The part at the end, about Horowitz receiving fan mail, was interesting. Maybe I'll send a letter too.

I'm giving her 5 stars. Never at any point did I want to stop reading, and never did I see where it was going. I would definitely read again. The way Horowitz writes these is like a comfort book.
