Probably my favorite of the Hawthorne and Horowitz pairing. I remember the plot and twist of this quite well - and I read this over 2 years ago. Small town cozy murder that is endlessly entertaining

Another entertaining whodunnit! This time Horowitz and Hawthorne get invited to a book festival on the tiny island of Alderney. There a few chapters describing the surroundings, the other authors and the locals before someone is murdered. I absolutely adore this series and cannot wait for more!

This was the best Hawthorne/Horowitz yet - the relationship between the two seems to be warming, and Horowitz isn’t quite so lost all the time. Hawthorne also keeps his backwards views to himself in this one, which was a welcome change. Again, I guessed the solution well before the end - hard to tell if I actually like these books, or if I just like being right. I will say that the setting and characters felt very vivid, and I quite enjoyed the journey.
