Kiva is in a prison because her family is suspected of treason. She has to protect the rebel princess and makes friends within the prison. Kiva’s job is to heal the people who come to see her in the prison. There is trials she has to go through. The magic in the system is elemental.
This doesn’t trend anywhere new in terms of YA books. We have a rebel princess, trials and a quick falling in love moment. But I think it took the better parts of YA fantasy that I like and I had a great time. I was interested in the trials and I liked having a strong heroine that had girl friends. Her thing was more using her brains and healing, which was a nice change.

Ahhhh this was unreal 4.5. I read it in a sitting cause i was just INTRIGUED and it was fantastic, the last 100 pages was twist central which has me picking up the next one right this very second after finishing the first
WHY IS THIS NOT CRAZY POPULAR I HEARD IT ONLY GETS BETTER I CANT WAIT TO KEEP GOING

Freaking love this book! Lots of plot twists, some I saw coming and some I didn't. Diving right into book 2 tonight!
