The beginning started slow, but once the challenges started and especially in the last 25%, the story and twists went crazy! I couldn’t put it down. It took a while to really get into the trials, but after the first one, they got more interesting and became a much bigger part of the story.

I had guessed that both Jaren and Kiva would have powers, but I didn’t call her mom being the rebel queen! Such a good twist

OH MY GOD. this is my new favorite book of all time. the beginning half was a little slow with worldbuilding and honestly not much happening but the second half made it all worth it. THE PLOT TWISTSSSSSS i died on the last page...

I’m so sad because the blurb sounded so good! 😩 But, it made me believe that the trials would be the main thing, and it was just NOT. I only got around 45% into it but until then there’s just one trial. And that one was just rushed past. I don’t even know what the main thing of this story really is, because up until 45% at least it was just a whole lot of nothing. 

To be fair, I listened to it on audiobook and I was VERY annoyed by the narrator. The eleven year old boy sounded like a five year old. I thought he was quite a bit into to the book until it was disclosed he was eleven. And also, the FMC was just so annoying? The overly repetitive inner monologue of “Don’t. Let. Her. Die” made me go crazy. 

This what simply not for me and I’m just so disappointed because I really thought I would like this.

comença fluix (entenem a la 1a que les condicions de vida són dures, no cal dir-ho a cada paràgraf, thank you), però quan comença a haver-hi més plot a part de la vida a la pressió millora. 

Ràpid, enganxa i, tot i que hi ha plotwists previsibles, algunes coses si eren més inesperades.

Bo per llegir algu per passar el temps i descansar :)
