 Honestly I wish this had grabbed me more, it's got some interesting ideas on how a post-apocalypse novel can be or what topics it can tackle, but there's something about the writing and the way the scenes move from one to another that made it mostly slip out of my mind as soon as I was done.

Fun and cheery, if anything. Treats the nuclear holocaust like a lot of viddy games do--a great excision of capital beneath which commerce flows free once again, land of opportunity unearthed, Eden of the Wild West reclaimed. Much would come off cliche if adapted now--mutant animals, mutant kids and outcasts with psychic powers, 50's kitsch suburbia preserved in Armageddon--but in its time capsule it's fun as hell.

Mi sento in colpa per non riuscire ad apprezzare questo romanzo di Dick. Forse mi aspettavo qualcosa di più post apocalittico, forse la parola “fokky” è insopportabile ( potrebbe essere causa della traduzione ma mi irrita in modo estremo), forse i poteri paranormali sono una cosa che non riesco a ricondurre alla ricaduta radioattiva non lo so… ma sto romanzo non mi è davvero piaciuto per nulla.

Bittersweet depiction of after the end. I liked it a lot. Has some of Dick's classic hangups (maybe also a hangup for a lot of sci-fi at the time) about the disabled but otherwise really interesting.
