Helt klart läsvärd för den som vill fördriva tiden på ett vackert sätt, novellen erbjuder en lätt ingång till den annars ofta tunga ryska litteraturen. Lämnade mig dock något oberörd, oförändrad.

if i had read this at fourteen or eighteen years old, it would probably have been my favorite book. it's still a vibe, i still liked it, and the emotions didn't hit in the way they would have at different times in my life.
What a great introduction to Russian literature! Ivan Turgenev's prose has such a delicate and nostalgic tone to it, it is fairly lyrical and i like it a lot. The melancholic atmosphere that the whole ending had was interesting and quite darker than i expected while reading. This short story felt like reminiscing an old trauma, and it did a good job at that.
