I had such high hopes for this book and unfortunately I just found it boring. Lots of different side plots but none of them that interesting because there were too many so none of them could be explored deeply.

the characterization was rushed and shallow, the writing was all tell and not enough any show, and the ending felt very “jump the shark”.
I've pretty much loved every book Sarah Addison Allen has ever written. And Other Birds is no exception. It was a sweet, twisty little story sprinkled with Allen's magic dust and wrapped in the heat and humidity of the South.
